Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan crossed the Rs 1000-crore mark globally following a domestic collection of Rs 1.25 crore on Monday, while Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Shehzada managed to collect only Rs 3 crore nett on its fourth day at the box office, seeing an over 50 per cent drop in earnings compared to Sunday.
According to Box Office India, Siddharth Anand-directed Pathaan, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, has collected Rs 623 crore gross in India and another Rs 377 crore gross overseas since its release on January 25. The nett domestic collection of the spy action thriller stands at Rs 519 crore.
Only four movies have earned more than Pathaan worldwide. These include Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal (Rs 1,968 crore), Prabhas’s Baahubali: The Conclusion (Rs 1,788 crore), Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1,208 crore), and S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR (Rs 1,170 crore).
With Pathaan drawing audiences to theatres despite a drop in the number of shows, Rohit Dhawan’s directorial Shehzada could be headed for a poor show at the box office, experts predict.
According to Box Office India reports, Shehzada earned Rs 8 crore on Sunday, and its total domestic collection stands at Rs 23 crore nett.
Shehzada is a remake of Allu Arjun-starrer Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020). The film marks Kartik’s second collaboration with Kriti Sanon after Luka Chhupi (2018). Kartik’s last big-screen outing Bhool Bhulaiya 2 (2022) was a huge blockbuster at the box-office, with a lifetime collection of Rs 267 crore gross worldwide.
