It took just one breakfast with Raghav Chadha for Parineeti Chopra to realise that the young politician was “the one” for her, the actress has revealed in a heartfelt note about finding the love of her life and seeing a fairytale come true.

“When you know, you know. One breakfast together and I knew - I had met the one,” the 34-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside unseen photos from her engagement ceremony.

“The most wonderful man whose quiet strength would be calming, peaceful and inspiring. His support, humour, wit and friendship are pure joy. He is my home,” she added.

The photos show the couple dancing together at their engagement ceremony that took place on May 13 at Kapurthala House, New Delhi. The ceremony was attended by their close friends and family, including the bride’s cousin sister Priyanka Chopra. The newly engaged couple twinned in white Manish Malhtora outfits for the roka and ring exchange ceremonies.

“Our engagement party was like living a dream - a dream unfurling beautifully amidst love, laughter, emotion and loads of dancing! As we hugged those we loved dearest and celebrated with them, emotions overflowed. As a little girl in awe of princess stories, I had imagined how my fairytale would begin. Now that it has, it is even better than I had imagined. 💕,” Parineeti’s note further read.

Raghav also wrote a note for Parineeti. “And one fine day, this beautiful girl entered my life, adding a colourful dash of smiles, laughter and sparkle to brighten it up, and whose gentle, reassuring embrace promised eternal love and support. No wonder our engagement was such a happy occasion where tears of joy, laughter, happiness and merry dancing brought our loved ones even closer - quintessentially the Punjabi way,” the Rajya Sabha MP wrote.

The newly engaged couple had known each other since their days as students in London. Rumours about Parineeti and the AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leader dating each other started when the two were spotted having lunch together in March. Their wedding is scheduled to take place in October this year.
