All Quiet on the Western Front

Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming German First World War drama All Quiet on the Western Front. Directed by Edward Berger, this is the big-screen adaptation of German author Erich Maria Remarque’s celebrated novel of the same name.

The synopsis reads, “All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. Paul and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches.”

The film features Daniel Brühl, Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch and Aaron Hilmer in important roles.

All Quiet on the Western Front will be streaming on Netflix from October 28 after its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival on September 12.

Wendell & Wild

Netflix has released the trailer of its stop-motion horror film Wendell & Wild. Helmed by Henry Selick, the director of films like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, the upcoming film also casts horror genius Jordan Peele as a writer.

The almost two-minute-long trailer introduces us to Kat Elliot (voiceover by Lyric Ross), a teenage Goth girl who is forced to face her demons. And while we all have our share of guilt and regret to carry around, Kat’s demons actually have names — Wendell (voiceover by Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (voiceover by Jordan Peele).

Based on an unpublished book by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman, the music of Wendell & Wild is being scored by Academy Award-nominee Bruno Coulais.

Wendell & Wild will be streaming on Netflix from October 28.
