Actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay had a fanboy moment when he bumped into cricket icon Wasim Akram at the Chicago airport lounge on his way back to India after attending the North American Bengali Conference in the US.
“I’m on my way back home and was chilling at the Chicago airport lounge when I met the legend (in the third photograph, swipe right two times) and couldn’t resist requesting him for a selfie (and I’m not big on selfies, even in the best of companies). This one had to be done! @wasimakramliveofficial shall forever remain a fan sir,” wrote Parambrata on Tuesday, sharing a selfie he clicked with the former Pakistani skipper and thanking the latter for honouring his request.
The post elicited enthusiastic responses from Parambrata’s fans. “Wowwww such a pleasant surprise meeting Wasim Akram. Lucky you,” wrote one, while another social media user commented, “Even I am. That inswing in the 1992 WC which completely defeated Chris Lewis was a gem. This selfie is really priceless.”
Parambrata had been in the US to attend the North American Bengali Conference (NABC) in Chicago, where he was awarded the Mr. Consistency title.
The actor is set to star as Satya in Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming yet-to-be-titled film. The film will also feature Phalguni Chattopadhyay, Kaushik Sen, Anirban Chakrabarti, Rahul Banerjee, Ananya Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Kanchan Mullick, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay alongside Parambrata.
