Papon’s 13-year-old son turns night attendant for the hospitalised singer, leaves him emotional

The 47-year-old singer was recently admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital

Papon has penned a heartfelt note after his 13-year-old son turned a night attendant for the singer during his recent hospitalisation in Mumbai.

The Jiyein Kyun singer was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for medical reasons that are yet to be disclosed.

“We all fight these small battles alone. I don’t personally like posting these incidents on social media. But last night was different. It was for the first time, my little boy who is all of 13 opted to be the night attendant at the hospital! It’s an emotional moment and I wanted to share with my friends and well wishers,” Papon wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him with his son Puhor Mahanta in the hospital.

The 47-year-old Assam-born singer also remembered the time when he did the same for his parents. “I remember all those times I used to do this for my parents. I wish they were around to witness their grandson Puhor taking his turn already! Blessed I feel and thank you all for all the blessings and good wishes! I am feeling much better now! 🙏🏼❤️,” he concluded.

Papon’s post brought several reactions from his friends and colleagues who wished him a speedy recovery. “Ironic but in the sweetest way .. you feel so good .. though not so well .. I can totally connect with this .. GetWell Soon Bro 🤗❤️🙏,” singer Shaan wrote in the comments section.

Musician Naveen Kumar wrote, “Take care my brother..god be with you.” while singer Nilotpal Bora commented, “Get well soon”

Rana Naidu actress Suchitra Pillai also wished a speedy recovery to Papon, “Oye rockstar get well soon luv."

Actor Adil Hussain wrote in Assamese, "Haaare... Ki hol bhai (Oh. What happened, brother)..."

Papon has sung in several languages, including Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, and Marathi. He lent his voice to songs in Madras Cafe, Barfi, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Sultan.
