Euphoria frontman Palash Sen recounted how his last meeting with the late KK on the set of The Kapil Sharma Show in February 2022 had calmed his “heart’s turmoil”.
“This was the last time I met KK.. Feb 11th, 2022...It was an emotional day for me...there was a turmoil in my heart that day for personal reasons and then I was meeting my brother after years...Well we met , laughed , talked, sang and revelled in nostalgia reliving our Delhi college and bands circuit days ... and suddenly there was no turmoil in me at all,” wrote Palash on Instagram on Friday, fondly looking back at his last meeting with the late singer on the latter’s birthday.
Palash also shared that KK was pleasantly surprised when he thanked the latter for his unwavering support on national television. “To his utter surprise I thanked him on TV for my career and he just couldn't believe it,” he wrote in his note, recounting that they had promised to meet each other more often.
Palash went on to reflect on KK’s sudden demise a few months later in May that year. “Four months later , he was gone...Bye toh bol deta, mere bhai,” reads his post.
Paying tribute to KK’s timeless contribution to music, Palash wrote, “But he lives... he is immortal.. as a tribute I always sing one song by him in every concert . He was, is , will always be my friend, my bro, my inspiration.”
“Happy birthday KK ...God needed you more than this selfish earth.. Stay mehfuz, my bro...Sing On.. And so will I.. Every Concert I do, will sing for you,” Palash concluded his note, reiterating that he always sings a song by KK at all his concerts.
On May 31, 2022, KK died in Kolkata within an hour of his power-packed performance at Nazrul Manch due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 53, leaving the music community in shock.
