Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will be managed by his wife Nida Rahat and other family members following a split with his global promoter, the Pakistani singer announced at a press conference held in Lahore on Wednesday.
The 49-year-old singer shared a clip of the press meet, where he said that his Pakistani music company RFAK will merge with NRK — a company run by his wife Nida and her US-based brother Mohammad Baqa Khan Barqi. The management team will also include Rahat’s brother Asher Anwar, his cousin Maroof Ali Khan and Raja Umair Hussain.
“I have parted ways with my previous management company in a lovely and peaceful way,” he confirmed.
Rahat was earlier represented by Salman Ahmed, founder and CEO of a Dubai-based global entertainment firm, for the last 12 years. They, however, decided to part ways due to a series of disagreements.
At the press conference, the Pakistani singer also said several clients had previously made payments to the company without informing him. “I don’t want to repeat this episode,” he said, requesting his clients to make payments only after he has signed an official agreement.
Rahat will be going on a world tour starting from February 10. The concert tour, to be managed by NRK, will commence in South Africa and then move on to other countries like the US, the UK, Canada, France and New Zealand.
The Pakistani singer is known for songs like Tere Mast Mast Do Nain from Dabangg (2010), Dil To Bacha Hai Ji from Ishqiya (2010) Tum Jo Aaye from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010) and O Re Piya from Aaja Nachle (2007).
