Emily Blunt plays an ambitious single mother who gets embroiled in the murky world of pharmaceutical sales after being egged on by Chris Evans’s Pete Brenner in the trailer of the crime drama Pain Hustlers.
Dropped ahead of its October 27 premiere on Netflix, the two-minute-22-second trailer introduces Blunt’s Liza Drake, a high-school dropout single mother in desperate need of a job. Liza’s job hunting takes her to Pete who makes her meet the eccentric, germophobic boss-to-be Jack Neel (Andy Garcia).
Under Pete’s guidance, Liza finds her stride in the pharma game and becomes an expert in her field. Despite constantly questioning her career, she gets egged on by Pete who keeps reminding her of the mind boggling amounts of money they keep making.
The trailer takes a turn as Liza reaches the peak of her career, now teaching others the ins and outs of pharma sales. The bubble finally bursts with sales going flat and Jack slowly spiralling into madness. Liza finds herself caught at the centre of a criminal conspiracy.
