Indian nominations to watch out for
The massive recognition RRR has received globally has piqued the interest of Indian fans in this year's Academy Awards as S. S. Rajamouli's film is a contender in the Best Original Song category for its dance track Naatu Naatu. Composed by MM Keeravani, the track will be performed live by the original singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The Elephant Whisperers directed by Kartiki Gonsalves has been nominated for the category of Best Documentary Short Film while Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes is a contender in the Best Documentary Feature category.
Another key attraction will be Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone as she will be a part of the presenting team at the 95th Academy Awards. The team features A-list celebrities such as Michael B. Jordan, Halle Berry, Harrison Ford, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, and Andrew Garfield among others.
Solo host for Oscars 2023
Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will host this year's Oscars, which marks a departure from last year's format of three anchors hosting the event—Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.
