Kim Kardashian’s beau, Pete Davidson, will give company to Orlando Bloom in the upcoming film Wizards!. Naomi Scott, Franz Rogowski and Sean Harris have already been confirmed to be a part of the cast.

While Bloom joining the cast has been confirmed, details of his character in the film have not been revealed yet. Known for his appearances in blockbuster film franchises like The Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings, Bloom will be seen next in the second season of his Amazon show Carnival Row, which also stars Cara Delevingne. He will also feature in the action-thriller Red Right Hand alongside Andie MacDowell.

Australian filmmaker David Michod, known for Animal Kingdom, War Machine and The King, will direct the film. He has also written the screenplay. Wizards! is reportedly based on a story that Michod wrote with actor Joel Edgerton, with whom he frequently collaborates.

According to Deadline, “The film follows two hapless pothead beach-bar operators (Davidson and Rogowski) who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone.”

It is unclear if the movie will be a comedy or a drama. Outside of his Saturday Night Live skits, Davidson is known for taking up comedy roles where he carries forward his persona of a ‘goofy stoner dude’. Even in the latest Peacock TV comedy Bupkis, he has signed on to play himself. In Wizards! he is expected to fit right into a similar light-hearted character.

Starring alongside Davidson will be the German actor Rogowski. He starred in the internationally acclaimed 2015 German film Victoria. He also appeared in the French film Happy End in 2017. His claim to fame was being a part of the cast of the German drama Transit, which had made it to former US president Barack Obama’s list of favourite films in 2019.

Aside from her role as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action Aladdin, Scott is noted for her lead role in the Netflix drama series Anatomy of a Scandal. She can be seen next in the Amblin sci-fi movie Distant.

Wizards! will be produced by Hollywood studio A24 and Brad Pitt’s production banner Plan B Entertainment. The project is the fourth collaboration between the two companies after award-winning films such as Moonlight, Minari and The Last Black Man in San Francisco.
