Netflix has roped in Callum Kerr, Julia Rehwald, Rob Collett and Ty Keoghi for its live-action series One Piece Season 2, which will likely cover the events leading up to the Arabasta Arc of Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga.

Kerr has been cast as the marine officer Smoker, while Rehwald will play Tashigi, who is a loyal subordinate of Smoker. Rob Colletti will portray the role of tyrannical king Wapol, and Keogh will play Dalton, a kind-hearted royal guard who once served under Wapol.

“New faces. New powers. New adventures! Don’t drift away, Straw Hats! We’re just getting started,” the makers wrote on the official Instagram page of the series on Tuesday, alongside collages of each actor with their respective characters from the anime adaptation.

Kerr’s Smoker already made a brief appearance in the first season of the live-action series, but only his rear profile was shown. The last scene showed Smoker putting out his cigar on Luffy’s wanted poster, hinting at him being a major antagonist for the Straw Hats.

A day earlier, the makers had revealed the names of the actors who are set to play Crocus, Brogy and Dorry. Game of Thrones actor Clive Russell will portray Crocus, the caretaker of the whale Laboon. The giants Brogy and Dorry will be played by Brendan Murray and Werner Coetser, respectively.

Recently, it was also announced that David Dastmalchian has been cast as the Baroque Works agent Mr 3, alongwith Daniel Lasker as Mr 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr 5 and Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine.

One Piece Season 2 will begin with the Straw Hat pirates arriving in Rogue Town, leading to their confrontation with the Baroque Works agents. It will also introduce Crocodile and his partner Nico Robin in the Arabasta Arc.

Set in the world of pirates, the story follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy who sets sail with his wacky crew on a perilous journey across the Grand Line to find the legendary treasure One Piece. In his quest to become the Pirate King and achieve freedom in its truest sense, Luffy overcomes formidable enemies, forges meaningful friendships and unravels the world’s secrets.

Iñaki Godoy will reprise his role as Luffy in the second season, alongside Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar, who played Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, respectively, in the first season.

The anime adaptation of the manga series, which began in 1997, is currently ongoing with over a thousand episodes.
