Actor Joe Manganiello will play Crocodile, while Lera Abova will portray the role of Nico Robin in the second season of Netflix’s hit One Piece live-action series, the makers announced on Friday.

“Introducing Baroque Works’ most dangerous duo, Mr. 0 and Miss All-Sunday! With power cloaked in mystery and intentions hidden behind ominous smiles, these two will stop at nothing,” the official Instagram page of the series wrote alongside a collage of the actors with their respective characters from Eiichiro Oda’s manga.

While Manganiello is known for his roles in True Blood, Magic Mike and Spider-Man, Abova played Thea in a Pitch Perfect spin-off titled Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin.

Crocodile and Nico Robin are key characters who work under the aliases Mr 0 and Miss All Sunday, respectively, at the nefarious Baroque Works organisation. Crocodile is a former Warlord of the Sea and a cunning villain, while Nico Robin (Miss All Sunday) serves as his partner and is initially portrayed as a mysterious and dangerous figure. Though she starts out as an antagonist, Robin later becomes an essential member of the Straw Hat Pirates.

The cast reveal took place at Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024, a week-long event held to celebrate several popular culture fandoms. Alongwith the highly-anticipated cast reveals of One Piece, the event also unveiled teasers of the second seasons of Arcane, Avatar and Squid Game. New games like Civilization VI and Street Fighter IV have been added to Netflix’s games lineup, the streamer announced.

Besides the cast reveal, Iñaki Godoy, who plays the role of the aspiring pirate king Monkey D. Luffy in the series, offered a first look at Tony Tony Chopper, in a BTS video shared by Netflix. Chopper, a reindeer and ship doctor of Luffy’s pirate crew, will be brought to life through CGI in the second season of the show.

In the video, Iñaki along with his co-stars Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar engage in a table read for Season 2. At the end of the clip, Iñaki surprises fans with a first-look at Chopper from behind, only featuring his tiny horns, ears and his iconic pink fuzzy top hat.

Set in the world of pirates, One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy who sets sail with his wacky crew on a perilous journey across the Grand Line to find the legendary treasure One Piece and become the Pirate King. In his quest to achieve freedom in its truest sense, Luffy overcomes formidable enemies, forges meaningful friendships and unravels the world’s secrets.
