A dreadlocks-sporting, visibly ripped Akshay Kumar emerges from a river as Lord Shiva to come to the rescue of his devotee Kanti Sharan Mudgal — played by Pankaj Tripathi — in the teaser of OMG 2, dropped by the makers on Tuesday.
The one-minute-26-second-long teaser begins with a voiceover by Pankaj Tripathi — “Human beings can give proof of God’s existence by either believing in him or being atheist. But God doesn’t discriminate.”
Glimpses of the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God!’s Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Rawal) lead to Tripathi’s story. Tripathi’s Kanti Sharan Mudgal worships Lord Shiva with utmost dedication. We see how his family suffers a tragedy with a scene of a child attempting suicide in front of a train.
Akshay’s first appearance as Lord Shiva shows him flaunting his six-pack abs. A haunting, high-energy Har Har Mahadev chant echoes in the background as glimpses from the upcoming film appear on the screen.
Actress Yami Gautam’s character is missing from the teaser.
