Actors Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King are set to feature in a romantic comedy film for Netflix, the streaming platform has announced.
The untitled project will be directed by Richard LaGravenese, known for films like Behind The Candelabra, P.S. I Love You, The Last Five Years and Freedom Writers.
LaGravenese, who previously wrote movies like The Fisher King, The Bridges of Madison County and Behind the Candelabra, is also writing the script with Carrie Solomon, who is working on the Margot Robbie-led Ocean’s 11 prequel.
Netflix announced the cast of the film along with a plotline on Twitter.
“Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King will star in an upcoming romcom on Netflix – a surprising romance kicks off comic consequences for a young woman, her mother and her movie star boss as they face the complications of love, sex, and identity,” the tweet read.
While the logline is vague, the streamer states that the film sees a surprising relationship lead to hilarious consequences for a young woman, her mother, and her movie star employer as they deal with love, sex, and identity issues.
The movie will be produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Alyssa Altman for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films. The production house just saw its Adam Sandler drama Hustle premiere on Netflix and is also producing the upcoming Russo Brother’s action movie The Gray Man.
Kidman recently appeared in Robert Eggers’ Viking epic The Northman and was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos.
Efron just concluded filming on The Greatest Beer Run Ever, directed by Peter Farrelly and starred in Blumhouse's adaptation of Stephen King's Firestarter.
King shot to fame after starring in Netflix's breakout hit teen romance film trilogy The Kissing Booth. She next features in Hulu's mediaeval action film The Princess and then stars with Brad Pitt in David Leitch's action film Bullet Train.
