NFDC-National Film Archive of India in collaboration with Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) has announced a two-day film festival from September 23 to 24 to mark the 100th birth anniversary of legendary Indian actor Dev Anand. Titled Dev Anand@100 - Forever Young, the film festival involves audiences across 30 cities and 55 screens throughout India. It will reach audiences in cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Kolkata, Guwahati, Indore, Jaipur, Nagpur, New Delhi, Gwalior, Rourkela, Kochi, and Mohali.
Dev Anand, often referred to as the "evergreen hero" of Bollywood, remains an enduring symbol of charisma, style and timeless charm. To commemorate his remarkable legacy, the FHF, founded by filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, has meticulously curated a collection of four iconic Dev Anand films — CID (1956), Guide (1965), Jewel Thief (1967) and Johny Mera Naam (1970) — which will be presented in stunning 4K resolution on the big screen thanks to the restoration efforts of NFDC-NFAI.
The film festival marks the third in a series of such events organised by the FHF, following the successful Bachchan Back To The Beginning and Dilip Kumar – Hero Of Heroes last year.
