The high drama of the first season of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives will continue in Season 2 with Neelam Kothari Soni, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey and Seema Sachdev Khan, going by a new trailer of the Netflix show that dropped today. The women go on a cycling trip, there’s talk of blind dates and hot flushes, and there’s Ananya Panday asking her mom if she is pregnant.

Apart from Gauri Khan, who made a fleeting appearance in Season 1 and will return this season, the trailer promises guest appearances by singer Badshah, director Zoya Akhtar and actor Jackie Shroff. And of course Karan Johar — whose Dharmatic Entertainment is the producer of the show — who will be spicing it all up. Season 2 of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives starts streaming on September 2.

A lookback at the previous season

Following in the footsteps of The Real Housewives series of American television, the Netflix original reality show The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives takes a peek into the personal and social lives of four Bollywood wives (though Neelam is more of a Bollywood star than a star wife).

Season 1 put on display the extravagant and glam lifestyle of the wives, with their husbands and kids popping in on and off. From Neelam contemplating a return to acting to the last episode where Shah Rukh Khan praises the gang, the debut season did hold our interest through the highs and lows of the four women. Shah Rukh’s revelation that one of the reasons why he and Gauri got married was because both were fans of Neelam was the cherry on the cake.

The four friends and their families

The friendship of the four ladies is at the forefront of the show, with their domestic lives woven into the plot too. Maheep (wife of Sanjay Kapoor) and Seema (ex-wife of Sohail Khan) are the most vocal in the group. Maheep’s loud-mouthed ‘twat’ has also become a favorite among fans. Neelam, on the other hand, is soft-spoken and has been nicknamed the ‘grandma’ of the group. Much like Neelam is Bhavana, wife of Chunky Panday and mother of Ananya.

While the show revolves around the lives of these four friends, it is the husbands who often steal the thunder with their dad jokes and candid behavior in front of the camera.
