Netflix has announced a slew of new movies and shows, including documentaries, Christmas romance films, workplace sitcoms and real estate shows. Here’s a glimpse of some of the most promising of these trailers.
Blockbuster
Conceptualised by the writers of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Superstore, the Randall Park-Melissa Fumero-starrer Blockbuster is a workplace comedy series. It also features Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur and Olga Merediz.
Bringing back fond memories of the age of video rental stores, the trailer gives us a glimpse of a video rental store manager called Timmy. After learning that he is managing the last Blockbuster Video chain store in America, Timmy and his employees fight to stay afloat.
Blockbuster will arrive on Netflix on November 3.
Falling For Christmas
Lindsay Lohan is coming this Christmas on Netflix with the Holiday special film Falling For Christmas. Starring alongside Chord Overstreet, Lohan plays a hotel heiress who suffers from amnesia after a skiing accident — seconds after a marriage proposal.
The trailer shows a newly engaged hotel heiress (Lohan) getting into a skiing accident and then suffering from total amnesia. She finds herself in the care of a handsome lodge owner (Overstreet) and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.
Falling For Christmas will be streaming on Netflix from November 10.
Earthstorm
Netflix documentary Earthstorm chronicles takes us to the most ferocious of storms, trying to find out the reasons behind such destructive occurrences.
In the almost two-minute-long trailer, we see storm chasers, survivors and first responders recount their harrowing experiences with volcanoes, tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes.
Earthstorm arrives on Netflix on October 27.
Is That Black Enough For You?
Writer-director Elvis Mitchell’s upcoming documentary Is That Black Enough For You? tackles the prominent question of race relations and black identity in Hollywood.
The trailer features the interviews of eminent personalities like Hollywood icons Samuel L Jackson and Laurence Fishburne. The documentary explores the history of Black representation and the cultural impact of witnessing unapologetic blackness.
Is That Black Enough For You? Will stream on Netflix from November 11.
