Naruto fans are in for a treat on their favourite anime character’s birthday on Tuesday as they can now enjoy iconic scenes from the popular manga in a special video curated by manga magazine Shonen Jump.
Created by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto has been adapted into two anime series, several movies, video games and spin-offs. It follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young boy who dreams of becoming the strongest ninja and the leader of his Konoha village.
The one-minute-41-second-long video begins with a young Naruto, as seen in the prequel to Naruto: Shippuden (2007), sharing memorable moments with his Team 7 members, Sasuke, Sakura and the trio’s ninja mentor Kakashi.
The video showcases the rooftop fight scene between Naruto and Sasuke after the latter had left Konoha village in search of power and revenge as well as initial duel scenes between the two. After depicting yet another fight between Naruto and Sasuke, it goes on to highlight some touching moments from the manga, including Naruto’s memory of his other mentor and godfather, Jiraiya, splitting a popsicle into two and offering one to the young ninja. The video also features other fan-favourite moments involving Naruto’s deceased parents and the last moments of Sasuke’s elder brother.
Recently, Naruto makers released a new four-episode series, reanimating important arcs from Naruto (2002) and its sequel Naruto: Shippuden (2007), to mark the anime’s 20th anniversary.
All the episodes of Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden are currently available to watch on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
