Wedding Season
Netflix has released the trailer of their upcoming romantic comedy Wedding Season, which revolves around South Asian and Indian communities. Here are Asha and Ravi, two singletons who are facing immense pressure from their families to find a spouse. Hoping to find relief from their probing families, the two agree to pretend to be a couple. Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi and Pallavi Sharda play the duplicitous duo. Wedding Season will release on Netflix on August 04.
Woman King
Sony Picture Entertainment has dropped the trailer of their upcoming action film Woman King, starring Academy Award winner Viola Davis. The film tells the remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s with unmatched skill and fierceness. The film also stars John Boyega, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim and Hero Fiennes Tiffin. Helmed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, who previously directed The Old Guard and Love & Basketball, Woman King hits the theaters on September 16.
Fitoor Song | Shamshera
YRF has released a new video song from the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Shamshera. The song, Fitoor, features the lead pair of the action-fantasy film, Ranbir and Vaani Kapoor. The duo are seen romancing in a picturesque mountain desert before going into an underwater sequence. Fitoor is sung by Neeti Mohan and Arijit Singh, and composed by Mithoon. The highly anticipated film also stars Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist. Shamsheera will release on July 22 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Trisha’s first look from PS-1
Trisha Krishnan has shared her first look from Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (PS-1). The actress shared the image on Instagram and captioned it, “In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai!”
She will play princess Kundavai of the Chola empire in the historical drama and will rub shoulders with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays queen Nandini. Billed as one of the most expensive films made in India, PS-1 also stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, Parthiban and Prakash Raj. The film is slated to release worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Dear Friend
Netflix India has released the trailer of their Malayalam-language coming-of-age film Dear Friend. It is steered by actor-turned- director Vineeth Kumar, who previously made Ayal Njanalla in 2015. Dear Friend stars Tovino Thomas, Darshana Rajendran, Sanchana Natarajan and Basil Joseph. Written by Sharfu, Suhas and Arjun Lal, it tells the story of six friends, and is filled with nostalgia and laughter. The film is set to release on July 10.
