Netflix announced the renewal of its Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati-starrer action thriller series Rana Naidu on Wednesday.
“Don’t worry, the Naidus are coming back to sort all your kiri kiri♥️🔥 #RanaNaidu season 2 coming soon,” the official Instagram page of Netflix India wrote on the social media platform alongside a montage of Season 1.
Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the role of Rana’s brother Jaffa in the show, tweeted a video on Tuesday promising a big announcement on Wednesday. “Brb we’re currently going crazy because the BAAP has a kiraak surprise in store! 🤩💥 #RanaNaidu #RanaNaiduOnNetflix @NetflixIndia @ifeelkingOG @kkanchanmusic @RollRida @SouthBayLive @SpiritMediaIN @AkshaySundher #RaghavAdhithya @VenkyMama @RanaDaggubati @krnx @suparn,” he wrote.
The series trended on the No.1 spot as the most-watched series in India for three consecutive weeks after its release on March 10. It continues to be among the top 10 series in India for the fifth week in a row. Rana Naidu also trended in Netflix’s global top 10 for non-English TV shows for two weeks after its release.
Produced by Sunder Aaron and Locomotive Global, the series is created and co-directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn S. Varma. It also features Surveen Chawla, Gaurav Chopra, Suchitra Pillai, Sushant Singh, Adithya Menon, Priya Banerjee, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajesh Jais.
