Streaming platform Netflix released a flurry of trailers and teasers of its upcoming films and shows during its Geeked Week 2022 event on Monday. These include exciting new projects and the next instalments of existing fan favourites. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming shows you’ll be able to stream soon on Netflix.

Netflix has released the first trailer of its next German series, 1899, by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, the creators of Dark. The trailer follows a group of European immigrants who, while travelling to New York, find a ship drifting in the middle of the ocean, which marks the start of their horror. Fans of Dark will recognise the teaser trailer, which is full of riddles, strange artefacts, symbols and gloomy cinematography. Netflix is yet to announce the release of the show.

The Sandman

The highly anticipated Netflix adaptation of the critically acclaimed fantasy comic book series The Sandman will premiere on August 5. Morpheus, or Dream, the king and personification of dreams and all that is not reality, is trapped and imprisoned by a bunch of sorcerers in this teaser. Dream is one of the Endless, a collection of seven entities who symbolise natural forces or elements such as Death or Desire, according to the show’s mythology.

Resident Evil

The OTT platform has released a new trailer for its upcoming Resident Evil series, which features a number of monsters from the first game, including what appears to be the Tyrant. The trailer goes deeper into the series’ two storylines, which follow Jade and Billie Wesker’s lives before and after the zombie apocalypse. On July 14, the much-loved action-horror series will be available on Netflix.

Jaadugar

Netflix India has released the trailer for Jaadugar, a film starring Jitendra Kumar. The company released a teaser for Jaadugar, which included the first look at Jitendra’s role in the film. With his magic wand, hat and moustache, Jitendra gives off an old school magician vibe in the teaser. Directed by Sameer Saxena and written by Biswapati Sarkar, this sports drama will be available to watch from July 15.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2

Netflix has confirmed that the Korean zombie-apocalypse coming-of-age drama, All of Us Are Dead, would return for a second season. Created by Chun Sung-li, Lee Jae-kyoo and Kim Nam-su, the show is based on the webtoon, Now at Our School by Joo Don-geun, which was published between 2009 and 2011.

Warrior Nun Season 2

Season 2 of Netflix’s fantasy drama Warrior Nun will premiere this winter, according to the streaming service. The show’s action-packed trailer has been released by Netflix, and it catches up on the story so far, with Ava recounting the events of the first season. Based on Ben Dunn’s popular comic series, Warrior Nun Areala, the show has been on a two-year cliffhanger for fans.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities

Netflix has also released the teaser for Guillermo Del Toro’s latest horror project titled Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. Several scary stories from several key horror filmmakers are included in this anthology series. The show will feature actors like Eric Andre, Sofia Boutella, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Kate Micucci, and Charlyne Yi among others. Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, will also appear in the show.
