Netflix has renewed its popular Hindi crime-drama series Class for a second season following the success of the first instalment that premiered in February, the streamer announced on Monday.

“We’ve felt your love for the first season of Class loud and clear! The show received massive fan love and started multiple conversations about differing socio-economic backgrounds, mental health, love and representation and we can’t wait to up the ante and bring back all this and more in Season 2,” Netflix India wrote on Instagram alongside a short clip.

Adapted by Ashim Ahluwalia from the Spanish series Elite, Class was an instant hit after its release. Not only did it hold the No. 1 spot among shows on Netflix in India but also made it to the global top 10 list on the streaming platform in February.

The first season of the series followed the journey of three friends from the lower strings of the society who get scholarships to study at Hampton High, an elite school in New Delhi. They are treated as rank outsiders by the other students, belonging to the rich business class in the societal hierarchy. As their worlds collide, conflicts arise, conspiracies are hatched and secrets tumble out of the closet, leading to a murder where everyone is a suspect.

The young and dynamic cast of Class includes Anjali Sivaraman, Gurfateh Pirzada, Piyush Khati, Madhyama Segal, Cwaayal Singh, Zeyn Shaw, Chintan Rachchh, Naina Bhan, Ayesha Kanga and Chayan Chopra.
