Netflix has dropped a fresh teaser of the upcoming thriller series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, giving a first look of the characters played by Vijay Varma, Patralekhaa, Dia Mirza, Pankaj Kapur and Naseeruddin Shah.

The one-minute-38-second-long teaser presents Vijay as Captain Sharan Dev. Subsequent scenes show Patralekhaa as a flight attendant, Dia Mirza as a news editor and Pankaj Kapur. Naseeruddin Shah appears in the video as cabinet secretary.

Apart from them, Kumud Mishra portrays India’s intelligence bureau joint secretary Ranjan Mishra, while Arvind Swami plays MEA secretary D.R. Sivaramakrishnan. Manoj Pahwa portrays the role of the additional director of India’s intelligence bureau.

“At this crucial time, it was necessary for all of us to come together. This story is about the ordeal of those never ending seven days. This is the story of India’s longest hijack,” Vijay’s voiceover says at the end of the video.

“A groundbreaking story - 30,000 feet in the air. Based on true events - IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, a limited series, arrives on August 29, only on Netflix. #IC814OnNetflix,” the streaming platform wrote alongside the video on X.

Marking filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s OTT debut, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack focuses on the events that transpired after an Indian Airlines flight was hijacked shortly after departing from Kathmandu. The incident marks the longest hijacking in the history of Indian aviation.

Also starring Amrita Puri, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Pooja Gor, Anupam Tripathi, Kanwaljit Singh, Aditya Srivastava, Sushant Singh and Yashpal Sharma, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is set to stream on Netflix from August 29.
