Popular thriller mystery show You will return to Netflix for its fifth and final season in 2025 with Penn Badgley reprising his role as Joe Goldberg, the streaming platform announced on Thursday.
“Goodbye, you. The killer final season of YOU is coming in 2025,” Netflix wrote on Instagram alongside posters of the show.
The first poster features Penn Badgley surrounded by torn newspaper clippings and missing person reports, evoking mystery, murder, and suspense. The pages feature characters like Marienne Bellamy and Guinevere Beck, with the tagline “A Killer Goodbye” written across it.
The second poster features key objects from the series—sunglasses, a green book (The Dark Face of Love by Guinevere Beck), a watch and clippings about deaths and disappearances. A framed photo of a character, labeled “Joe”, with her eyes obscured, implies another victim. The tagline “Guilty Treasures” hints at Joe’s collection of mementos tied to his dark past.
Sera Gamble, who originally developed You with Greg Berlanti and ran the show for its first four seasons, will be replaced as showrunners by executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo for the fifth season.
Season 4 ended with Joe back in New York City, where the show first started, with his new girlfriend Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) helping him erase his entire past to start anew.
