Actress Nayanthara has expressed gratitude to film lovers and fans on the occasion of the release of the Hindi-dubbed version of her latest movie, Connect, on December 30.

Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, Connect is set against the backdrop of the pandemic-induced lockdown. The horror thriller, also featuring Sathyaraj, Vinay Rai, Haniya Nafisa and Anupam Kher, was released on 300 screens across the country.

The Tamil star took to Instagram to thank the audience for showering love on the film after it was released in Tamil and Telugu earlier this month. She also wished her fans a happy new year.

“It’s been an eventful year for me and I’m filled with gratitude. Thank you to all film lovers and fans who have watched and supported our Connect. And my gratitude to those who continue doing so, booking your tickets and enjoying show after show,” she said in the statement.

“It’s a genre-specific film and we have strived to do justice to you, the audience and the genre. Our entire team has worked with utmost conviction and sincerity with this vision in mind,” she added.

Nayanthara also said she would always be pleased to collaborate with Connect director Ashwin Saravanan and expressed her appreciation for him. The 38-year-old actress also expressed her love for her husband, Vignesh Shivan, who is also the producer of the film.

“My gratitude and love to my producer, Vignesh Shivan, and our dream, Rowdy Pictures. You took this film, the team and yourself an extra mile with sheer determination. Thank you once again for producing, distributing and releasing our film in the best way possible,” she said.

Connect was released to mixed reviews and failed to take the box office by storm. “We have taken in all your love, support, feedback and criticism. And we hope to use this as a learning curve for our future ventures,” Nayanthara said.

Nayanthara will make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s upcoming directorial venture Jawan. The film is set to release sometime in 2023.
