Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has expressed her love for the most quintessential of Bengali food — ‘Chorchori & Aloo’ — in a recent post on Instagram.
It seems Navya has been spending a lot of quality time with her grandmother Jaya Bachchan, learning from her the subtle nuances of everyday Bengali food.
Among the pictures of vegetable dishes Navya has posted, one is a traditional thinly-sliced potato-onion stir-fry, peppered with green chillies, whole red chillies and cumin seeds. The other is a bitter gourd and carrot stir-fry, complete with a whole red chilli — a Bengali staple in vegetarian items.
Here’s Navya Naveli Nanda’s favourite Bengali potato stir-fry.

However, it’s not clear whether Navya tucked in all these delicacies in Paris where she was present for the L'oreal Paris Fashion Week, with grandmother Jaya Bachchan and mother Shweta Bachchan by her side, or included the dishes among her first few comfort meals after reaching home in Mumbai.
After her debut ramp walk in Paris, the 25-year-old entrepreneur flaunted her cheeky side to the world by capturing Jaya Bachchan on camera at a Paris restaurant named Paparazzi and posted the picture with the caption ‘finally smiling for the paps’.
Navya is the founder of Project Naveli, an initiative centred around women’s education and economic independence.
