Nani’s revenge drama Dasara outperformed Ajay Devgn-starrer Bholaa at the domestic box office by collecting Rs 58.05 crore nett in India against Bholaa’s Rs 44.45 crore so far, box office records highlighted on Monday.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, the period-action thriller Dasara released across the country in multiple languages on March 30 and raked in Rs 23 crore nett on the opening day, according to Box Office India. The film earned Rs 9.75 crore nett on Friday and another Rs 25 crore over the weekend.
Bholaa, on the other hand, had a sub-par opening at the domestic box office, with a collection of Rs 11.2 crore nett on Day 1, as per data with Box Office India. The film’s earnings further dropped to Rs 7.4 crore on Friday but witnessed a significant jump during the weekend. The action thriller raked in Rs 12.1 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday, taking its total domestic earnings to Rs 44.45 crore nett so far.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar earned Rs 0.60 crore on its fourth Friday and Rs 2.3 crore over the weekend, taking its total domestic collection of Rs 136 crore nett.
Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway also drew audiences to the theatres last weekend. The family-legal drama, directed by Ashima Chibber, added Rs 1.85 crore nett to its coffers on its third weekend, taking the film’s total domestic earnings to Rs 18.9 crore nett.
