This video has a unique concept. How did you come up with a dog-woman relationship video single that too to overcome heartbreak?
We wanted to make a video about my life. And my friend Azeem thought of the concept seeing me and Kobe (her dog) together. Nothing else would have felt more real.
Have you faced a situation in real life?
I have been through a low. And Kobe did help me get to a much happy place in life. You look stunning in the video.
Have you thought of acting?
(Laughs) Thank you! I haven't really. I do get calls for acting and auditions. I haven't thought about it seriously but I did enjoy shooting this. You are perhaps the only woman composer-singersongwriter in India.
At what age did you start?
Could you please share the journey with our readers. I started playing an instrument at the age of 5. I started teaching music at 14 to save up money for my instruments since I come from a middle-class family and I didn't want to burden my parents. I participated in music events while in college and sang at small gigs for Rs 5,000 at times and released my first single online. Rest everything followed one thing at a time.
What's next on your mind? Acting or songs?
Songs.
Are you liking Bollywood or still fond of indie folk?
I like both. For me, it's all about making music. I don't categorise it as Bollywood.
What are your next projects?
A single is in the pipeline along with numbers for Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
