The upcoming edition of Mumbai Comic Con will feature a panel discussion with Demon Slayer voice artiste Natsuki Hanae and producer Yuma Takahashi on April 20 at Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, confirmed the organisers on Wednesday.
Hanae is known for lending his voice to the character of Tanjiro from the popular anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, while Takahashi has also produced series like Fate/Zero and Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song.
“Hellooo Mumbai! Have we got some exciting news for all anime and Demon Slayer fans! Natsuki Hanae, the voice behind Tanjiro, and Yuma Takahashi, Producer of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, are coming to Mumbai Comic Con on 20th April,” the official Instagram page of Comic Con India announced on Wednesday.
The fourth season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, covering the Hashira Training Arc, is slated to premiere on Crunchyroll on May 12. The film Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training was recently released, which included an hour-long recap of the epic finale of Season 3 and a preview of the upcoming season’s first episode.
Apart from the Japanese duo, anime, gaming and pop culture enthusiasts will come together for cosplays, workshops and fun stage events at the Mumbai event scheduled to be held from April 20 to 21.
Cosplay events will be held on both the days. The cosplayers will be competing for a prize pool of over Rs 3 lakh, including the daily Grand Cash Prize of Rs 35,000.
Upcoming Indian artistes like Abhijit Kini, Shubham Khurana and Rahil Mohsin will launch their works at the comic con, while the team of Indian webcomic Bakarmax will launch Karejwa — a graphic novel that “explores the end of the world through the eyes of Pintoo, a man who craves a sweet dish as his last wish”.
Vaibhavi Studios will launch India’s first original manga titled TRIO at the event on April 21. A special tribute to Dragon Ball Z creator Akira Toriyama and Friends star Matthew Perry will be given on April 20.
There will be daily gaming and e-sports tournaments for the attendees. Popular streamers will also be attending the Comic Con. Special stand-up comedy performances by Rohan Joshi, Sahil Shah and Harsh Gujral will be arranged, followed by theme song performances by Geek Fruit. DJ Kazu, Shah Rule, Guy Rob and MC Altaf will also be performing on stage.
