Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni might try his hand at acting in films — preferably in action movies — if he is offered “something good”, the World Cup-winning skipper’s wife Sakshi Dhoni said at an event for Dhoni’s maiden production venture LGM - Let’s Get Married in Chennai on Tuesday.

“If there’s something good, he might do it. He is not camera-shy. He has been acting in advertisements since 2006, and he is not afraid of facing the camera. So, might do it if there’s something good,” Sakshi said in response to a question during a press interaction.

In reply to a question about the genre the wicketkeeper-batter would be interested in, Sakshi promptly replied, “Action. He is always in action.”

Meanwhile, LGM director Ramesh Thamilmani said, “He (Dhoni) is a real-life superhero, and I would like to see him in a superhero film.”

Sakshi has turned film producer with the upcoming Tamil film, LGM - Let’s Get Married, produced under the banner of Dhoni Entertainment. The family entertainer film is directed by debutant Ramesh Thamilmani and stars Nadhiya, Harish Kalyan, Ivana, RJ Vijay and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.

The story of the upcoming film centres around a young couple in love, with the girl (Ivana) having inhibitions about living under the same roof as her mother-in-law (Nadhiya). She suggests taking a trip with her parents and her fiance’s parents (Harish Kalyan) before the wedding to get to know each other better. This puts the girl and her mother-in-law in hot water.

Earlier this month, Sakshi also revealed the reason behind bankrolling a Tamil film as their first production during the film’s audio and trailer launch event. She said that the couple chose Chennai as the city is lucky for the Chennai Super Kings skipper, revered as ‘Thala’ in Tamil Nadu.

LGM: Let’s Get Married will arrive in cinemas on July 28.
