Mrunal Thakur shares BTS photos from Kalki 2898 AD sets: ‘So glad to be a small part of this majestic and glorious universe’

Actress Mrunal Thakur on Sunday shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of Kalki 2898 AD, thanking Nag Ashwin for including her in his vision of the epic universe and praising the performances of her co-actors.

“I’m so glad to be a small part of this majestic and glorious universe,” the 31-year-old actress, who portrayed the role of a pregnant woman called Divya in the Nag Ashwin-helmed sci-fi epic, wrote in a note posted alongside the pictures on Instagram.

Mrunal also lauded her co-stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan for their “stellar” roles in the film. “What a film! Absolutely blown away by the visuals of #Kalki2898AD. The entire team has done a stellar job on this film,” she wrote.

Heaping praise on Nag Ashwin for his “vision” and for “bringing this masterpiece to life”, the Hi Nanna actress said, “From the cast to the sets, to the music, to the vfx, the costumes everything is just so well done.”

Praising Amitabh’s performance in the movie, Mrunal said, “Sir you truly are the shahenshah!!! Your performance as Ashwathama is just phenomenal, I’m still in awe with how you commanded each scene.”

Mrunal also applauded Deepika for her eloquent presence in the movie. “You’ve brought Sumati to life with such grace and I loveee your presence on screen, you’ve done such a fab job,” she wrote.

Calling Prabhas’ bond with his AI-driven sidekick Bujji her favourite part about the actor’s role, Mrunal wrote, “Garu where to even begin, you’ve really knocked it out of the park! Love every aspect of your role and the finesse with which you played bhairava.”

About Kamal Haasan, Mrunal said, “Sir you’re just INCREDIBLE and I’m eagerly waiting for part 2.”

Kalki 2898 AD revolves around the immortal warrior Ashwatthama, played by Amitabh, going to great lengths to protect Deepika’s Sumathi who is pregnant with Kalki, the prophesied tenth and final incarnation of Vishnu.

Also starring Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee and Brahmanandam, Kalki 2898 AD hit theatres on June 27.
