Maya Erskine and Donald Glover play an assassin couple in the trailer of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a Prime Video series based on the 2005 action-comedy movie of the same name that featured Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Dropped by the streamer on Friday, the one-minute-54-second video introduces a married couple — John (Grover) and Jane Smith (Erskine) — who are leading dual lives as assassins. Beginning with their association with a covert spy agency, the video goes on to show how the duo enter into an arranged marriage with new identities, navigating high-risk missions and relationship milestones. Besides some fast-paced action sequences from the series, the trailer also introduces a touch of comedy when they struggle to talk about their profession to a therapist.

Along with headlining the series, Glover also produces the series, which turns out to be his latest project with Prime Video after the satirical comedy horror show Swarm. He co-created Mr. and Mrs. Smith alongside Francesca Sloane. Apart from Glover and Erskine, the series also stars Parker Posey, Wagner Moura, Michaela Cole, John Turturro and Paul Dano.

The first season of Mr. & Mrs. Smith will premiere on Prime Video on February 2, 2024.
