Jogi
Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming film Jogi, starring singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. Set amid the chaos of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who helmed blockbusters like Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan.
The two-minute-12-second-long trailer gives us a glimpse of the volatile situation in Delhi after the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film follows the journey of a Sikh family living in Delhi and their son Jogi.
Produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will also feature Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur.
Jogi will be streaming on Netflix from September 16.
Monica, O My Darling
Netflix has dropped the teaser of its upcoming film Monica, O My Darling, starring Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte.
The one-minute-four-second long teaser opens with Rajkummar’s character speaking about Angola, a small town he grew up in. Later, he is referred to as the ‘prince of Angola’ in the teaser, which features Huma as a boss-lady and Radhika as Rajkummar’s friend.
Helmed by Vasan Bala, the film also features Sikander Kher.
Thai Cave Rescue
Netflix has released the first trailer for its six-part thriller series Thai Cave Rescue, which revolves around the mission to rescue a trapped Thai football team from the Tham Luang caves.
The logline of the series reads, “Inspired by the incredible true story of the Thai youth soccer team that got trapped in one of the most dangerous cave systems on Earth, and the extraordinary efforts by their families, the people of Thailand, and volunteers from all over the world, as they fight against both nature and time to save them.”
Created and written by Michael Russell Gunn and Dana Ledoux Miller, the series is billed as a deep dive into this incredible rescue mission. Ridley Scott’s recently released survival thriller Thirteen Lives also explored the same subject.
Thai Cave Mission will be available to stream on Netflix from September 22.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story
Makers of Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a biological drama starring Daniel Radcliffe, have released the trailer of the film. Inspired by the life and career of American musician ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, the film will premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8.
The three-minute-long trailer gives us a glimpse into the weird world of Al Yankovic and his exceptional rise to stardom. The trailer also offers the first look of Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, and Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey.
Al Yankovic made musical comedy a huge thing in the 1990s and 2000s.
Koffee with Karan Season 7 Episode 9
Karan Johar has shared a teaser of the eighth episode of Koffee with Karan Season 7 featuring Heropanti co-stars Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff. The show’s last episode featured Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
Karan shared a teaser of the episode on Twitter and wrote, “Lots of heropanti, flipping conversations and giggles on this episode with this duo!😅 #HotstarSpecials #KoffeeWithKaranS7, Episode 9 streaming this Thursday 12:00am only on Disney+ Hotstar.”
In the short teaser, Karan asks Tiger, “why didn’t he make any advances towards Kriti?”, to which the Student of the Year 2 actor cheekily replies, “Because she was already taken.”
Episode 8 of Koffee with Karan Season 7 will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from September 1.
