The two-minute-29-second-long trailer explores the rich culture around Jallikattu or Manju Virattu, the bull-taming festival of Tamil Nadu. It follows individuals who compete in this tournament, and promises to present the power struggle and clash of egos between different clans of sportspersons.

Created by acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Marana and directed by La Rajkumar, the series features Kishore, Kalaiarasan, Antony, Sheela, Velaramamoorthy, Balahaasan, Pattabi, Sathish and Goutham among others.

Pettaikaali will be streaming on Aha from October 21.

Monster (Malayalam)

The trailer of Malayalam star Mohanlal-led upcoming action thriller film Monster was dropped by its makers. The one-minute-48-second-long trailer follows a seemingly botched investigation of the disappearance of a woman’s husband and child. The woman names a certain Lucky Singh as the perpetrator. Lucky, played by Mohanlal, is a mysterious Sikh man who is seeking revenge. But further details have not been disclosed in the trailer.

Directed by Vysakh, who helmed Mohanlal’s 2016 action thriller Pulimurugan, the film also features Sidhique, Manchu Lakshmi, Honey Rose, Ganesh Kumar, Lena, and Sudev Nair.

Ammu (Telugu)

Amazon Prime Video dropped the trailer of its first Telugu-language original film Ammu. Written and directed by Charukesh Sekar and headlined by Aishwarya Lekshmi, the film sheds light on the issue of domestic violence.

The two-minute-10-second-long trailer shows Ammu’s thoughts about marriage. She expects her marriage to be a fairytale-like experience, full of love and magic. However, her idea of marriage changes when her cop husband Ravi hits her for the first time. Ammu is subjected to a never-ending cycle of abuse and finds herself trapped. Pushed to her limits, Ammu teams up with an unlikely ally to break free.

Ammu will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from October 19.

Oh Meri Laila (Malayalam)
