Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho embark on yet another adventure in the trailer of Moana 2, which is slated to arrive in theatres on November 29 in India.
Dropped by Walt Disney Animation Studios on Wednesday, the one-minute-45-second trailer follows Moana, a strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesdian village, as she embarks on a voyage in long-lost waters after receiving a call from her trailblazing ancestors. “This is a call from the ancestors, to sail to new skies and reconnect our people across the entire ocean,” she says, teasing the start of a new adventure.
While Cravalho voiced Moana for the movie, Johnson returns as the voice of the demigod Maui.
The official poster dropped by Walt Disney Animation Studios on social media on Wednesday features Moana hanging from the boat sail and gazing at the sunset. “It’s time to set sail,” reads the caption, hinting at a new adventure.
A sequel to Disney’s 2016 film Moana, the new movie is helmed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller. Its background score is composed by Mark Mancina, Abigail Barlow Emily Bear and Opetaia Foaʻi.
