Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravaani, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, lyricist Chandrabose and actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR attended the Oscars after-party hosted by RRR director S.S. Rajamouli at his Los Angeles residence after the Oscars on Monday (IST).

Upasana Konidela, Ram Charan’s wife, shared glimpses of the party on her Instagram Stories. A Naatu Naatu-themed welcome gate was erected outside Rajamouli’s Los Angeles house. The guests were seen enjoying themselves inside the house, which, too, was decorated lavishly for the occasion.

The highlight of the party was Keeravaani’s heartfelt rendition of Top of The World song from the hits catalogue of The Carpenters — an American vocal and instrumental duo comprising siblings Karen Carpenter and Richard Carpenter. The composer played the piano and churned out the vocals as the guests swayed to the tune.

Ram Charan posed at the party with all the international accolades collected by Rajamouli’s epic period action film, with the Oscar trophy placed on top of the entire lot.

On Monday, Naatu Naatu became the first song from an Indian production to win the best original song award at the Oscars. “I grew up listening to The Carpenters; here I am with the Oscars,” said Keeravaani while accepting the award.

Naatu Naatu competed against Applause from Tell It Like A Woman, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and This Is Life from Everything, Everywhere All At Once.

The singers also performed the song on the Oscars stage during the event which received a standing ovation. The song was introduced to the audience by Indian actress Deepika Padukone.
