Huma Qureshi’s bestselling author Juhi faces plagiarism accusations from a mysterious writer Amit Chaudhary, played by Naveen Kasturia, in the trailer of Mithya – The Darker Chapter, the second instalment of the psychological thriller series.
Dropped by ZEE5 on Monday, the two-minute-22-second-long trailer sets the stage for a gripping battle of deception and family conflict. The video begins by showcasing Juhi Adhikari (Huma Qureshi) riding a wave of success as a bestselling author. Her days of fame, however, end soon. A mysterious figure, played by Naveen Kasturia, shows up at one of her book signings and delivers a chilling threat, accusing her of plagiarising his manuscript.
As Juhi grapples with this new menace, her student Rhea (Avantika Dassani) is locked in her own emotional turmoil. Desperate for their father’s affection, Rhea’s yearning for love and validation soon leads her down a dangerous path of revenge and manipulation. Her growing resentment toward Juhi only fuels the conflict, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown.
The trailer’s tagline, “blood versus blood,” foreshadows the intense rivalry that will take centre stage in Season 2. The upcoming instalment promises to escalate the psychological warfare between Juhi and Rhea, with Juhi pushed to her limits as she fights back against her student’s schemes.
“The stakes get higher as Juhi and Rhea set out to seek revenge against each other. With the unexpected death of a close one, what lies next for the estranged sisters?” reads the official synopsis of the upcoming season of Mithya.
The series is adapted from the British television show Cheat and revolves around Rhea’s vindictive attempts to exact revenge on her Hindi Literature professor Juhi, who had accused her of plagiarism.
Produced by Applause Entertainment and Rose Audio Visual Production, the first season of Mithya, which comprised six episodes, premiered on ZEE5 on February 18, 2022.
Mithya – The Darker Chapter is slated to hit ZEE5 on November 1.
