Tom Cruise-starrer Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One has minted Rs 81.5 crore nett in its extended first week in theatres in India, going past the lifetime earnings of its predecessor, Mission Impossible — Fallout (Rs 80 crore), at the domestic box office.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One registered an impressive opening at the box office, collecting Rs 12.5 crore nett on the day of its release. The film earned Rs 73.3 crore nett in the first seven days. It minted Rs 4 crore nett on Thursday (Day 9), which was at par with the film’s eighth day collection (Rs 4.01 crore nett).

Mission Impossible 7’s nine-day collection, however, fell short of Vin Diesel’s Fast X’s earnings (Rs 82 crore nett) during the same period.

Globally, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One has minted USD 259 million in its first week, out of which USD 168 million came from the international markets, according to Box Office Mojo. The Tom Cruise-starrer made USD 91 million at the US box office so far.

Mission: Impossible 7 is expected to witness a drop in earnings in its second week with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie hitting cinemas on July 21.
