Tom Cruise-starrer Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One experienced an outstanding opening weekend in India, raking in Rs 33 crore nett during Saturday and Sunday, according to trade reports.
Opening strongly with a collection of Rs 12.5 crore nett on Wednesday, the spy action thriller stumbled a little on Thursday, bringing in Rs 9.5 crore nett, followed by Rs 9.32 crore nett on Friday.
However, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, helmed by Christopher McQuarrie, found a new lease of life on Saturday as it went on to add an impressive Rs 16 crore nett to its kitty at the beginning of the weekend. The rejuvenation trend continued on Sunday with a collection of Rs 17 crore nett.
The weekend collections helped the latest instalment in Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible franchise to cross the Rs 60-crore mark in India in five days, taking its collection to Rs 64.3 crore nett.
Globally, Mission: Impossible 7 has minted a remarkable USD 235 million so far, according to Box Office Mojo, with USD 80 million coming from the US market and the remaining USD 155 million from international markets.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will enjoy an uninterrupted first week at the box office until Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie release on July 21.
