Ankush Hazra plays a mercurial gangster, who has a soft spot for Oindrila Sen’s femme fatale, in the seedy underbelly of Kolkata in the action-packed trailer of Mirza.

Dropped by the actor himself on Sunday, the three-minute trailer of the upcoming thriller directed by Sumeet Saahil promises an adrenaline-fueled ride from start to finish.

Setting the tone with an ominous voiceover by Ankush’s character, the trailer introduces a set of shady characters in the murky underworld of Kolkata, likening them to a deck of cards. Rishi Kaushik portrays a police officer charged with rooting out a drug-smuggling racket in Kolkata. While Shoaib Kabeer’s Azhar is known as Badshah of drug trade, Kaushik Ganguly commands authority as Sultan, the ace in this high-stakes game of cards.

Sporting a rugged appearance with piercing kohl-lined eyes, Ankush’s Mirza, emerges as the trump card, a character unbound by rules, preferring to carve his own path in this treacherous landscape. Amidst all the action and violence, Mirza falls in love with Oindrila Sen’s character, who eggs on the former to take Sultan’s place in the illicit business.

Mirza, which marks Ankush’s foray into film production, is set for an Eid release on April 12.
