Zendaya, serving as a first-time co-chair for Met Gala 2024, made a triumphant return to the annual fashion event after a five-year hiatus. As one of the evening’s official Met Gala co-hosts, the Dune actress made a statement in two stunning ensembles.
For her first appearance on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Zendaya flaunted a floor-grazing ocean-blue gown designed by John Galliano. Embellished with sequined green detailing, the outfit included a matching dramatic headdress and aligned with this year’s Garden of Time dress code, which urged guests to don ensembles paying homage to the natural world.
Later in the evening, the Challengers star surprised with a second appearance at the bottom of the Met steps, this time in a magnificent black gown, also designed by Galliano. The outfit featured a corseted lace-up bodice and an exaggerated trail. Puffy off-shoulder sleeves, detailed with frills and lace, accentuated the ensemble. A bouquet-shaped headwrap featuring an assortment of pink, yellow and red roses completed the jaw-dropping look.
Zendaya made her Met Gala debut in 2015 in a custom Fausto Puglisi sun-motif dress, inspired by that year's theme, China: Through the Looking Glass.
The actress last walked the Met Gala red carpet in 2019, dazzling in a light-up Cinderella gown designed by Tommy Hilfiger.
