“Presenting the honorees for our annual fundraising gala on October 14 to celebrate the museum’s two-year anniversary. The evening raises vital funds to support museum exhibitions, education initiatives & public programming,” the Academy posted on its official Twitter handle on August 15.

Meryl Streep is set to receive the Icon Award — a prestigious accolade that celebrates her outstanding artistic journey, which has left an enduring and notable cultural influence on a global scale, American entertainment magazine Variety quoted a statement from the Academy.

Michael B. Jordan will be given the Vantage Award, shining a spotlight on emerging talents and scholars who are reshaping and questioning established cinematic narratives. Oprah Winfrey will be honoured with the Pillar Award, a tribute recognising her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to supporting the Academy Museum.

Sofia Coppola will be felicitated with the Visionary Award, which acknowledges her as an innovator whose groundbreaking contributions have expanded the horizons of cinematic art.

The gala event will play a crucial role in raising funds to sustain the museum's activities, encompassing exhibitions, educational initiatives and a range of diverse public programs, including screenings, K-12 projects and community engagement endeavours in Los Angeles. Ava DuVernay, Halle Berry, Ryan Murphy, and Dr Eric Esrailian will be serving as co-chairs for the event.
