Meryl Streep, Juliette Binoche, Greta Gerwig and Lily Gladstone led the fashion spectacle at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival, which is being held in southern France from May 14 to May 25. Here’s a look at their stunning ensembles.
Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep was awarded an honorary Palme d'Or at the opening ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. The award was presented to her by renowned French actress Juliette Binoche, who looked gorgeous in a red off-shoulder gown featuring a floor-sweeping train. Streep, on the other hand, looked stunning in a white floor-length gown.
Returning to the prestigious event after 35 years, Streep posed for the camera in a striped white-and-blue shirt, paired with a white blazer and white trousers before the main event. A beige hat, black wayfarers and golden hoops added to the visual appeal of the outfit.
Barbie director Greta Gerwig, this year's jury president, took a selfie with her jury panel members French actor Omar Sy, Lily Gladstone and Nadine Labaki. Gerwig and Gladstone dazzled in shimmery metallic gowns, while Sy and Labaki looked sharp in well-tailored suits.
Gladstone looked stunning in a white shirt dress, which she teamed with brown platform heels, a brown belt and colourful drop earrings.
Gerwig tapped into the spirit of the season in a flowing white-and-blue striped dress. Minimal accessories and soft makeup balanced her look.
Eva Green, another member of this year's feature film jury, channelled her inner boss lady in a black off-shoulder top and a grey column skirt. Quirky shades added a touch of drama to her look.
Léa Seydoux attended the premiere of her latest French meta comedy The Second Act on May 14 in a sequined off-shoulder gown. Directed by Quentin Dupieux, the film also stars Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel, Raphaël Quenard and Manuel Guillot in key roles.
Heidi Klum turned heads at the Le Deuxième Acte screening and opening ceremony on May 14 in a stunning red Saiid Kobeisy couture gown, which featured a thigh-high slit and a dramatic train.
