Akshay Kumar’s big Rakhi release Raksha Bandhan has stirred up a lot of emotions across the country. Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the film revolves around sibling love and banter where Akshay’s Lala Kedarnath plays big brother to four sisters, played by Sadia Khateeb, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur. Badhaai Do actress Bhumi Pednekar plays Akshay’s love interest. Here’s introducing the four young actresses of the Friday film.
Sadia Khateeb
Sadia Khateeb, who plays Gayatri in the film, hails from Jammu and Kashmir and made her film debut in 2020 with the Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directed Shikara. Before entering Bollywood, Sadia studied engineering and had no plans of doing films. She’s an animal lover as can be seen on her Instagram feed.
Deepika Khanna
Possibly the on-screen sister with maximum work experience, Deepika Khanna made her Bollywood debut in 2017 in the Kalki Koechlin-starrer Ribbon, where she played the role of Jiya. Since then, Deepika has been busy doing one web series after another – her list includes Who’s Your Daddy, Yeh Crazy Dil, Gandii Baat and, most recently, Patiala Babes, where she played Chef Simpy. Deepika’s Instagram feed is filled with her and her friends’ pictures. Deepika plays the role of Durga in Raksha Bandhan.
Smrithi Srikanth
The 26-year-old will make her Bollywood debut with Raksha Bandhan. Smrithi is also a versatile dancer and often shares dance reels on social media. Her YouTube channel with her friends, called ‘Cherry Bomb’, has over a million followers. The actress appears alongside Aparshakti Khurana in the song Kudiye ni.
Sahejmeen Kaur
Sahejmeen Kaur, too, is making her Bollywood debut with this film. She’s always been interested in performing arts and was a part of a theatre group during her college days. Sahejmeen is a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan, which is evident from her Instagram posts. She sings and plays the guitar too.
