Following the release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer trailer and Raj B Shetty’s Toby, the makers of several upcoming Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films dropped new trailers and teasers last week. Here’s a look.
Mathagam (Tamil)
Disney+ Hotstar Tamil released the trailer of its upcoming Tamil-language crime drama series Mathagam. Directed by Prasath Murugesan, the series stars Atharvaa, Manikandan, Nikhila Vimal, Gautham Menon, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, Dhivyadarshini and Vadivukarasi.
The two-minute-26-second-long trailer follows a police force that hunts down the members of a crime syndicate to protect the lives of civilians. Filled with intense dialogues and gritty visuals, the trailer promises a gripping cat-and-mouse chase.
Mathagam will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar from August 18.
Mr. Pregnant (Telugu)
Telugu-language comedy-drama film Mr. Pregnant’s trailer was released by the makers. Written and directed by Srinivas Vinjanampati, the film stars Syed Sohel, Roopa Koduvayur and Suhasini Manirathnam.
The two-minute-13-second-long trailer chronicles the life of a male tattoo artist who gets pregnant. He and his girlfriend try to keep this hidden from their families, but life takes a tumble for the couple when a news outlet learns about the situation.
Bayaluseeme (Kannada)
ARC Musicq Kannada dropped the official trailer of Kannada-language crime thriller film Bayaluseeme. Helmed by Varun Kattimani, the film features him in the lead role alongside Armugam Ravi Shankar, Bhavani Prakash, TS Nagabharana and Yash Shetty.
In the two-minute-50-second-long trailer, we see various gangs from Northern Karnataka fighting among themselves for power and political influence. The clip also shows glimpses of romance, family, loss and ambitions.
Bayaluseeme will arrive in cinemas on August 18.
Nigoodam (Malayalam)
The teaser of Malayalam-language horror film Nigoodam was dropped by the makers. Written and directed by Ajesh Antony, Anish BJ and Bepson Norbel, the film features Anoop Menon, Indrans, Senthil Krishna, Gauthami Nair, Rosin Jolly, Preetha Pradeep and Shivakami.
The 53-second-long teaser shows a haunted house and introduces all the characters of the film. Several characters are seen questioning others about the existence of god and evil.
