Marvel has dropped the first trailer for Captain Marvel — Disney and Marvel Studios’ first female-led superhero film starring Oscar-winner Brie Larson.

Set in the 1990s, the trailer features shots of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and a glimpse of the CGI that awaits. There’s also a glimpse of Jude Law, whose character hasn’t been confirmed yet, and of Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan’s Minn-Erva, a member of the elite alien military team known as Starforce.

Former US Air Force pilot Carol Danvers (Larson) returns to Earth in the mid-1990s after spending years with Starforce, but has trouble recalling her past while being at the centre of a galactic war between two alien factions — the Skrulls and the Kree.

Fury observes that Carol is a renegade soldier, but she has amnesia and can’t recall who she is or what she’s supposed to be.

The film releases on March 8, 2019.
