Poor Things actor Mark Ruffalo, who played Hulk in MCU’s The Avengers film series, became the latest Hollywood celebrity to be honoured with a five-pointed terrazzo-and-brass star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California on February 8.
Ruffalo took to social media, sharing pictures from the event which he attended with his wife Sunrise Coigney and two of his three children.
“Thank you thank you thank you. This star is not only mine, but for everyone who’s been a part of my life,” wrote the 56-year-old alongside an Instagram carousel on Friday.
In his acceptance speech, Ruffalo shared a humorous anecdote recounting how his journey in the industry started. He got off a bus on Hollywood Boulevard when he was only 18-year-old, determined that he wanted to dedicate his life to acting.
Actor Tim McNeil, director David Fincher, and actress Jennifer Garner also attended the event as guest speakers.
Garner, who had starred opposite Ruffalo in Gary Winick’s 2004 body swap romcom 13 Going on 30, honoured the actor for being a person of character in her speech. “To work with you Mark is to love you,” she said, addressing her co-star and close friend.
The Adam Project actress shared a video on her Instagram in which she and Ruffalo can be seen recreating their ‘Thriller’ dance steps from 13 Going on 30.
Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan was also present during the ceremony.
Ruffalo became the 2,772nd person to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On the work front, the actor recently received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Duncan Wedderburn in Yorgos Lanthimos’ feminist fantasy Poor Things. Next, Ruffalo is set to feature in Warner Bros and Bong Joon Ho's eagerly awaited sci-fi drama, Mickey 17, alongside Toni Collette and Robert Pattinson.
In 2023, Ruffalo reprise his character of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the She Hulk Marvel series for Disney+. Ruffalo has also appeared in films like Infinitely Polar Bear, Thanks for Sharing, Now You See Me, Shutter Island, We Don’t Live Here Anymore, Zodiac and The Brothers Bloom.
