A moustache-sporting Manoj Bajpayee threatens bloodbath amidst changing power dynamics in Bihar hinterland in Bhaiyya Ji trailer, dropped by the makers on Thursday, drumming up the excitement ahead of the May 24 theatrical release.

The three-minute-three-second trailer for Bajpayee’s 100th film was accompanied with the caption, “Miliye Bhaiyya Ji Se. Aa rahe hai Bahukaal Machaane.”

Heavy on action, the trailer starts off with the film’s big bad Suvinder Pal Vicky, who plays a powerful corrupt politician, asking who Bhaiyya Ji is. In response, one of his men starts monologuing about the formidable Bhaiyya Ji. Along with the monologue, the trailer offers a slow reveal of Bajpayee’s character.

What follows is an action-packed sequence, setting up the conflict between Bajpayee and Vicky that arose from the latter causing the death of the hero’s brother. Dubbing Bajpayee as the ‘desi superstar’, the gory trailer shows him opting for violence against the influential villain, who is also shown to be equally ruthless. The trailer concludes with Vicky’s crony saying that Bhaiyya Ji will cause destruction, followed by Bajpayee beating up and indiscriminately shooting bad guys.

Aside from Vicky, who recently starred in the Netflix series Kohrra, the trailer gives glimpses of Zoya Hussain, Vipin Sharma and Jatin Goswami.

While Bajpayee is known for starring in gritty roles, the trailer for Bhaiyya Ji shows him as a vengeful action hero grieving the death of his brother. Bhaiyya Ji is set to be another collaboration between Bajpayee and the Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (2023) team including director Apoorv Singh Karki, producer Vinod Bhanushali and writer Deepak Kingrani.
