Filmmaker Mani Ratnam recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming gangster drama Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan, shared the production house on social media, dropping a video featuring behind-the-scenes moments from the sets, on Tuesday.

“Shooting completed #Thuglife enters the next phase," wrote the makers on social media.

Co-produced by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life also features Jayam Ravi, Ali Fazal, Trisha, Abhirami and Nasser in pivotal roles. A. R. Rahman has scored music for the film.

Ahead of Kamal’s birthday last year, the makers revealed the title of his upcoming film with Mani Ratnam with a video that shows the actor in a new avatar. The film will see the filmmaker and the veteran actor teaming up after their last project Nayakan in 1987.

Mani Ratnam’s most recent directorial venture was the grand epic Ponniyin Selvan (2023), which received widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences alike. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Vikram and Trisha Krishnan.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan was last seen in Shankar’s action drama Indian 2, which was released this year. The film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, Rakul Preet Singh and Siddharth.
