Maja Ma
Amazon Prime Video has announced its first Indian original movie Maja Ma, starring Madhuri Dixit.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is a family drama set amid an Indian wedding against the backdrop of a festival. The cast includes Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava, Rajit Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha, Simone Singh, Malhar Thakar and Ninad Kamat.Amazon Prime Video shared a poster of the film on Instagram and wrote, “Verified the dancing diva is back and how! blessing your screens to do away with your mid-week blues - now we're feeling Maja Ma”
Maja Ma will arrive on Amazon Prime Video on October 6.
Babylon
Paramount Pictures has dropped the trailer of Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, headlined by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva. Chazelle has previously directed films like La La Land, Whiplash and First Man.
The two-minute-25-second-long trailer gives us a glimpse of the characters and a 1920s’ Los Angeles setting. It traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. Robbie plays an aspiring actress, and Pitt is a Hollywood elite. Tobey Maguire also makes a brief appearance in the trailer.
Babylon will arrive in cinemas on January 6, 2023.
The Redeem Team
Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming basketball documentary The Redeem Team, based on the gold medal run of the US basketball team in the 2008 Olympics.
The US has been a dominant force in basketball and in the Olympics since the sport was introduced in the global event. However, in 2004, the US basketball team went on to lose to Argentina in the semi-final of the Athens Olympics, settling for bronze with a team that featured stars like Allen Iverson, Tim Duncan, Stephon Marbury and the young trio of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
The Redeem Team follows the 2008 team headlined by Kobe Byrant, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, James, Wade, and Anthony, tasked with the mission to reclaim its top rank in the Beijing Olympics.
Created by the people behind Netflix’s The Last Dance, the upcoming documentary will feature never-seen-before footage of training and interviews with all the stars, including pre-recorded interviews of the late Byrant and recent interviews of LeBron James.
The Redeem Team will be streaming from October 7.
The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist
Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming documentary The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist. It focuses on the break-in and thefts at several A-list celebrity homes in Los Angeles by a group named Bling Ring. It features the real culprits of those thefts in unfiltered interviews.
The synopsis of the documentary reads, “First there was the reality series, then came a Hollywood movie— but the truth about the Bling Ring burglaries has never been told…until now. 10 years after the notorious heists, the culprits have served their jail time and are coming forward to tell the real story behind the Hollywood Hills home-invasions that gripped the nation. A cautionary tale for teens today, the docu-series shows what can happen when a fame-and-celebrity-obsessed culture meets the rise of social media and spins wildly out of control.”
The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist will arrive on the streaming platform on September 21.
The School for Good and Evil
Netflix has unveiled the trailer of The School of Good and Evil, an upcoming fantasy adventure based on the bestselling fantasy book series by Soman Chainani.
The two-minute-47-second-long trailer follows two girls who attend a fantastic school where the origins of every fairy tale are born. However, the two best friends are divided into the heroes and villains squad. Now, the friend in the hero’s camp must save her friend from being totally consumed by evil.
The film is directed by Paul Feig and stars Sophia Anne Caruso, Sofia Wylie, Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron.
The School of Good and Evil will be streaming on Netflix from October 19.
